Para avaliar o impacto do Programa ViraVida, o SESI acionou a JS Brasil, que realizou os estudos em dois diferentes ciclos: 2008 a 2012 e 2013 a 2015. Na ocasião foram consideradas as dimensões de custo-eficácia-eficiência, custo-benefício e equidade. Todo o estudo foi realizado a partir de um protocolo de pesquisa aprovado em Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa credenciado pelo Conselho Nacional de Ética em Pesquisa (CONEP). Ao todo, as coletas de dados abrangeram mais de 2000 adolescentes e jovens de 16 a 24 anos, de quatro grupos: matriculados, evadidos, egressos inseridos no mercado de trabalho e um grupo de controle, ou seja, jovens de perfil sócio-econômico semelhante que não foram atendidos pelo Programa. As análises mostraram que o Vira Vida é uma tecnologia social significativa de investimento, que contribui para a redução do ‘Apagão de Mão de Obra’ jovem em todos os Estados avaliados.
